YOU – A radio programming veteran with at least five years of multi-format experience with Talk being one of them. An “adult” who not only collaborates on strategy but will implement the plan. Understands that great radio is grown up from the streets of the communities that we serve and not down from a regional manager. Know how to work with air talent and salespeople to bring out their best on-the-air and on-the-street. Not only get angry when you see someone else’s call-letters on a promotion but get mad at yourself for not thinking of it.
Me – A radio veteran who has managed several top radio brands in large, medium and small markets. I’ve worked for the largest radio groups as well as entrepreneurs in both programming and sales. I am looking for an Operations Manager who understands that passion for radio will get you to the door, but being my partner in working our plan will break it open.
We – Will work as a team to enhance our five brands consisting of four well-known radio stations (WMAY-AM/FM/WNNS-FM/WQLZ-FM/WUSW-FM) and one respected local company (Mid-West Family Broadcasting). We will work with our staff in order to turn our good stations into great brands.
The Rest – You love to coach and develop talent especially in the Talk format
- Can do an air shift in multiple formats
- Understand that a ‘digital plan’ is not a banner ad and a station stream
- Realize that a remote appearance is the exact opposite of being remote to listeners
- Know how to make Selector sing
- Have the instincts to do it your way and not wait for a corporate mandate
